Joining God in the renewal of all things in the neighborhood.
We have a conviction that the Creator God is at work to heal and remake the whole world. Our own lives are a part of that renewal project and we are invited to join in God's ongoing work of making all things new. To follow Jesus and join Him in His mission is to become agents of renewal in our neighborhoods, industries and our city as a whole.
With all the shifts and disruption in the church today, we are growing increasingly convinced that being incarnational in our places is absolutely essential if we are to participate in God's work of reconciliation in the world. We must be love embodied. For we are called to be the body of Christ for a reason. We are meant to to be family, community and a dwelling place for God's presence. And yet, the church is so very fragmented today and we believe must be re-membered and fit together in the context of everyday life.
As followers of Jesus, we participate in this redemptive work in all of life - in our vocations, families, neighborhoods and communities - seeking the common good, working for justice for those who are marginalized and without voice, and praying that God's dream would come to earth in our neighborhoods, in our offices, and in our classrooms. Out of these prayers, many dreams have been birthed and brought to life. Here are just a few of hundreds of ways that our community is joining God's beautiful work in the world.

Canopy Scholars| Investing in the Neighborhood
What our neighborhoods need most are people who care. People who will show up and participate. Citizens who will care about our local economy, landscape and health. Neighbors who will mentor, educate and coach. And community members who will collaborate, create and dream.
Canopy Scholars was launched in 2006 to work for the common good of all in our neighborhoods, to invest in youth and low-income families, and to build collaborative relationships that create a fabric of care in our community.

Justice, Friendship & Peacemaking | Here & Beyond
We take the call to love our neighbor very seriously. But not just the neighbor that looks like us. We believe that we have so much to learn from each other and that as we listen to and receive the gift of the other, our communities will thrive. We want to become expert listeners, exploring structural injustice, fostering depth in our dialogue, and asking better questions. As followers of Jesus, we want to empower the poor, the marginalized and the oppressed to lead the way in God's dream for the world.
