The Parish | Embodying love in the neighborhood
As the practicing church, we must embody this love in time and place. We want to follow Jesus in the gritty stuff of our everyday lives where we see the consequences of our actions, where our faith becomes real and more than just mere talk - where the rubber hits the road. We believe we're called to live beyond Sunday gatherings and midweek meetings, to invest our whole lives in developing deep community with followers of Jesus in proximity to where we live. We call this neighborhood model, The Parish.
Historically to have a parish meant to take spiritual responsibility for a geographic area. That's why members of our community believe in taking ownership of the spiritual condition of their neighborhood, finding ways to not only love one another, but tangibly love those living nearby through acts of service and stewarding resources for the common good. We want to practice the way of Jesus in the places we live, weaving a fabric of care and friendship, and participating in God’s redemptive work in the world.
